Jesse's Christmas

tonight i got to skype my little niece Jesse. she is so cute. she got really big since the last time i saw her. i watched her open her presents that we sent her for Christmas. i think that she liked what we got her, but she asked for more. we sent her four items, and she said that she needed five. it was pretty funny. i wish that we could be a little closer to home just so we could see family a little more often..... i was really blessed to see such a beautiful little girl. we are blessed to have her apart of our family.

Back home

Well I have been out of the country for about a month on holiday. And while on holiday no one feels like doing anything. Or at lest that is how I am. So now that I'm back let's see if I can get in the groove of bogging again. We will see if it works, because I have got other things that I would like to do. I want to learn Afrikaans. Which takes up a lot of time. I also want to do a bible study which takes at least an hour to do. So with those two things and trying to run a family I am not sure how the blogging thing is going to go. So until next time. Be blessed and may the Lord be with you. catching a nap

so as everyone with kids knows they dont like to sleep at night. well Ian is for sure one of those kids (and i love it). well though he dont sleep much at night he sure does sleep during the day. i also thought that was a pretty good idea too. a little bit later during the day Chantal thought that she would join into the fun (of sleeping). so what we saw today was a beautiful gift of sleep.

Three Kids

[campus]Image by theAthena via Flickr
this afternoon Chantal and I took Ian and the girls out for a little walk. it was a beautiful evening. as we made our way down the street we saw these three kids jumping a trampoline (two boys and one girl). the funny thing was these kids had one in the middle while the other two stood there and hit the one in the middle. as we moved closer we saw the the two boys had convinced the girl that she needed to be the one in the middle..... all i could do was laugh. the boys we not hurting the girl it just looked funny as we walked by.... i guess what made it funny was the dialog between Chantal and I..... life looks so much different through the eyes of a parent.

What didn't i see last night?

Well yesterday we got to bring Ian home from the hospital. And let me tell you he came to life!!! He did lots of exercising. He exercised his small little lungs all night ;-).... So what I didn't see last night was sleep. But it wasn't so bad. Once I got him to sleep he would stay down for about 1 hrs. I think once he finally got to sleep he a slept for about 3 hrs. Although once the sun came up he finally took his Que to go to sleep. Which made all of us happy. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. Ian's eyes

Today Ian started to open his eyes a little bit more. They are a beautiful dark blue. I know that they will probably change, but for now they are perfect. He doesn't like to open them both at the same time. He'll open one and try the other, but hat just doesn't work for him. So when he opens one eye he looks like he is giving you the "stink eye." who would have thought that someones eyes could be so beautiful. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. Looks like an alien

His afternoon as the wife lay in bed I watched her stomach to see if the baby would move. Sure enough he did. I don't know if you have ever seen this before but man let me tell you it looks crazy. It looks like there is an alien life form in my wives belly.... Now speaking of the baby we are still waiting for him to be born. We are hoping that my wife will go into labor tonight. Which would be a total blessing. And man I can't wait for him to be here. Then I can watch him move without thinking he's an alien.... Anyway I am so thankful that God allowed my wife and I to get pregnant. This is I know for sure is going to be the best (earthly) gift He has ever given me. Seeing that i am the joy

Every day I am seeing more and more that I really am the joy of the Lord. I love the song that is sung by Klaus "joy of the Lord." in Heb 12:2 we see that there was "joy" that was set before our Lord. i am starting to believe that I am that joy. I am starting to see that Jesus finds joy in me. And man let me tell you that is a hard thing to see. Because there is nothing in me that one should be joyful about. So I thank God that He is opening my eyes to see me as He sees me, and that He finds joy in me. Which leads me to find joy in Him. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. Sunrise

I was on my way to work this morning when I saw the most beautiful sunrise. I couldn't help but thank God for his wonderful creation. The sky stared out golden flowing into dark red with streaks of sun light peaking through. If I had more time I would have pulled over and sat there to watch this beautiful work of God. A day at work

Today was little bit crazy. I had a lot of things going on all at once. But even throughout the craziness I still got to do/see some pretty cool things. We had an inflight emergence on an F-16. Then soon after that we had a fire on a bus. To finish it all off we had a MVA with one person injured. These things were not the only things that took place their just the ones that are worthy to talk about. Today really is not what I saw but what I felt. I felt like I was running in an off base fire house. Which I plan on doing when I get back to the States. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. A Child with Hope

Jesus Christ BobbyImage via Wikipedia
today i went to see my friend who's 3 year old son has Leukemia. when my wife and i walk in the doors the little boy says "hiiiiii." so we ask him how he is doing his reply was "I'm doing great." all the while he is laying on his bed watching his favorite show. he doesn't even seem bothered by all the IV's hanging out of his body. this little boy seemed to be the happiest boy alive. so what i saw today was a boy filled full of life. one who has no worries but seems to have all that he needs.....

now his parents on the other hand seemed to be drained. full of unknown fear. they seemed optimistic, but the fear of the unknown seems to be overwhelming. i thank God that these people are Christians. for now they have that hope and comfort of Jesus Christ. so in these people i saw something that i never want to see again. a parents heart braking for their child.

New chief in the house

It has been about two weeks sense our new fire chief made it in. And let me tell you things are already looking up. He has to spend the night with us at least one night a week. Well tonight was one of those nights. To our surprise he sat down and at dinner with us. This is pretty new for us seeing how our old chief wouldn't be in the same room with us even if someone paid him... What I am saying is this: tonight I saw a fire chief who actually cares. One who wants to be involved in the lives of his people. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. not what i saw but what i heard

today is not what i saw but what i heard. this evening wen i was getting around to take my shower i heard music. it was a band (marching band) playing music for some festival in my village.  it has been some time since i have heard this kind of music. and man did it make my heart happy. though this particular band was not that talented they really made my heart happy. so today i hear music which lead to a moment of happiness ending w/ a world being seen through eyes of joy.

Brotherhood

Tonight some of the guys at work asked me to play soccer with them. As I am not a big sports guy i did want to at first. But then it hit me. I thought "it doesn't matter how good I am, it's the fact that I am out there with my guys." and man I'm glad that I decided to go out there. By the end of our game I could see in all of our faces happiness. Not because we won, or even played ball, it was because we (for the 1st time in a long time) were acting like a brotherhood. We were acting like a fire department. BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop
